Kokanee Salmon Release

A very special celebration

Come help release and learn about native kokanee salmon in Lake Sammamish! These fry are a key part of a strategy to restore the native kokanee population to healthy levels after decades of decline. Join local elected officials, Snoqualmie Tribal leaders, and members of the Kokanee Work Group as we send these fish off to get big in Lake Sammamish!

Date & Time: Thursday, October 17th, 2024 from 4:30 - 7:30pm
Location: Lake Sammamish State Park Boat Launch (4455 E. Lake Sammamish Parkway SE, Issaquah, WA 98029)

Details: This event will celebrate the work being done to restore native kokanee populations in Lake Sammamish. Local elected officials, Snoqualmie Tribal Leaders, and Kokanee Work Group members will speak about the importance of that work, celebrating the organizations, community members, and leaders supporting those efforts. Elected officials and Snoqualmie Tribe Leaders will travel by boat out into the lake to release the fry. Kokanee Work Group partners will have tables and provide information about their work.

The public is welcome to attend this event and help us commemorate the progress we’ve made to help our “Little Red Fish”.
