Critical Habitats for Climate Change with IATC

Join Issaquah Alps Trails Club and Dan Hintz, the Urban Forest Supervisor with the City of Issaquah, on a guided hike along the Pickering Reach of Issaquah Creek to explore how riparian areas and wetlands are critical habitats for plant and wildlife diversity in the face of a rapidly changing climate. Celebrate the start of spring by learning about common riparian area native plants and how healthy riparian buffers provide vital habitat for salmon.

This hike will focus on the City of Issaquah’s efforts to conserve and restore riparian and instream habitat along this reach of Issaquah Creek to support threatened Chinook salmon populations. Learn about this vital work and ways you can engage in the ongoing process of restoring habitat along Issaquah Creek.
